lyrics

My enemies always calling me out
Even when I’m all alone they can never beat me
I’m the one to make them all fall down
Why are we the ones who getting dropped to our knees
Feeling entities that make you shiver in your sleep?
I’m the only one left trying to make a difference in my reservation
Why me?

I gotta know, were these wounds self-inflicted?
Just depicted an image of them slitting my wrists
Red dripping off the serrated steel tip
I see it spilling in n out off conscious I slip
I didn’t wanna die it was a cry for attention
Regretting what I did, heavy eyelids the light dims
Did I picture my future?
Or was it a vivid vision of indigenous victims living here?

Its like living in a prison, can’t contribute to society
My native people living life in poverty
Our waters full of mercury
What happened to humanity?
Not knowing your own boundaries
We always end up battling, why does it happen to me?
I’m trying to end my struggle
Nobody cares about the way I feel when I’m in trouble
The land we lived on wasn’t ideal for them
They brought the shovel
Now they digging up our graves showing us the devil
My enemies always calling me out
Even when I’m all alone they can never beat me
I’m the one to make them all fall down
Why are we the ones who getting dropped to our knees
Feeling entities that make you shiver in your sleep?
I’m the only one left trying to make a difference in my reservation
Why me?

We try to rise above it all
It doesn’t make a difference and everyone thought
We would only back down and watch our heritage fall
They putting pressure on us, why we living like this in the north?
Our grocery stores, where everything is overpriced
Every house is overcrowded and we lose our kids from suicide
It’s a real tough road we gotta go through
Our younger generation they are not supposed to

Our people see it trying to preach it
Reaching out to governments and media but to they don’t believe it
It’s not a secret
Eliminating water supplies with pipelines
Oh, never mind the land they stealing
Yeah it’s hard for natives nowadays, depressed, neglected
The Rez is not the same
And did they forget the missing women’s names
Left with no respect so we praying here for a change

Everyday I see natives wasting away their dreams
It's the way we live when surrounded by trees
My voice not heard, I’m trapped, can’t breath
Feeling so helpless and all I can see
All of our culture's turning to history, we get mistreated
And all we ever needed, is respect for all my natives

My enemies always calling me out
Even when I’m all alone they can never beat me
I’m the one to make them all fall down
Why are we the ones who getting dropped to our knees
Feeling entities that make you shiver in your sleep?
I’m the only one left trying to make a difference in my reservation
Why me?

But we stay grounded and we can’t be dropped like Standing Rock
Aftershock from the drum that we brought
It’s the power that forever towers what they got
When United we defy them and protect our block
They tell us to use common sense, but we got nothing in common
They making dollars all we got is cents
Made a promise but they wrote it with a broken pen
So I guarantee our culture we'll always defend
